The recent passing of Don Helms brings sorrow to all of us - players and fans alike. At our 2007 show, Don joyfully played the songs of Hank Williams Sr., for he was the last surviving member of the original Drifting Cowboys band. But there was something about Don that set him apart from even many well known artists - and that was his willingness to sacrifice his time above and beyond to talk to his fans... you and I. His genuineness to take the time to convey his thoughts to us about playing steel and about life's stories was unparalled.
